Frequently asked questions
Q. How many photographers will be photographing my wedding?
A. Barrie and Bev photograph all weddings together. This has many advantages over a single photographer. Bev will capture the bridal preparations while Barrie will meet with the guys on the golf course or in the pub. By having a male and female photographer, you will get the view of your wedding day from two completely different perspectives. We both work as discreetly as possible to capture all the candid moments that an individual photographer may not see.
Q. How many photographs will we receive?
A. When you return from honeymoon you will receive a wedding box containing around 200 prints. These are the very best pictures taken on the day and each print will be individually corrected and presented in colour or black and white depending on which best suits the mood of the image. As each print is individual and we do not include many different versions of the same shot you should expect to love every one.
Q. What about group shots?
A. We understand that all couples will want some group shots and we generally take these at the reception venue once everyone has had a chance to congratulate you and grab a glass of bubbly. We will ask you to nominate a responsible person to round up the relevant people and to provide us and the usher with a list of groups in advance of the wedding. We advise that you keep the groups to under ten to enable this part of the day to take as little time as possible. The groups we are generally asked for are:
Everyone - Brides Family - Grooms Family - Bride and Bridesmaids - Groom and Ushers - Bride, groom and friends
Bride, groom and parents - Bride, groom and friends
Q. We would like some special photographs of the two of us, is this possible?
A. Absolutely. We will take the bride and groom to one side two or three times throughout the day and evening. This will allow us to photograph you in different locations and make the most of the changing light throughout the day. All couples enjoy these fun, relaxed sessions as it gives them a few minutes together away from the noise and bustle of the day.
Q. Do you need feeding on the day?
A. We find we work best without rumbling bellies! It is greatly appreciated if you can provide us with some food while you have your wedding breakfast. We are very happy to be sat with your guests or in the bar with a plate of sandwiches. Obviously the closer we are to the action the more photographs we can take. If you are unable to feed us please let us know and we will either bring something with us or go and find a nearby bar. As we will be working up to twelve hours we will need to eat at some point.
Q. How long does it take until I can see my photographs?
A. Your photographs will be available to view online within 48 hours of your wedding. This album can be viewed by all your friends and family and can be password protected if required. Your luxurious proof box will be ready in approximately seven to 10 days. Please give us a call when you return from honeymoon and we will post them to you.
Q. How long does my album take to produce?
A. Once you have decided on the images you would like in your album, it takes around seven days to produce the layout. You will have a chance to see Jpegs of each page and make any changes you like prior to going to print. From the time we order the album, it takes approximately four to six weeks for your final album to be produced. This includes the time it takes for your album to be made and shipped from Australia and the time spent in the studio constructing the album.
Q. I would like to book you to photograph my wedding. What do I do next?
A. Please contact us to check we are free on your wedding date. Most couples come to see us before booking to view completed albums and our wedding slide show although this is not essential. You will be asked to complete a booking form and pay a £250 deposit to secure the date. The final payment is due four weeks before the wedding date.
At a convenient time and location between booking and your wedding date, we will arrange to meet for a portrait session. This gives us a chance to get to know each other better and give you some stunning photographs to keep or give to family and friends. It is becoming very popular to have a large engagement portrait for guests to sign or incorporating a photograph into wedding stationary. We can advise on either of these options.
